Example Application
One of the most significant problems in Blast Furnace operations is the heavy amount of sparks that travel from the furnace to the baghouse. The sparks land on the outer surface of the filter bag, burning small pinholes into the filter bag. These exposed pinholes allow dust to penetrate to the clean side of the filter and eventually to the environment. Menardi uses an assortment of non-combustible fabrics in conjunction with our Opti-Coat™ precoat to eliminate pinholes. Inspection of the cleaning cycle, filter cake, and hopper evacuation are other areas that must be controlled.
