Horizontal Pan Filters
The horizontal pan filter has found its main application in the phosphoric acid industry and, to some extent, in the washing of phosphate rock. Imagine a pie cut into 10 slices. Each slice has a flat (pie-shaped) filter cloth in the bottom. As the pan filter turns, it fills up with slurry. While the pan filter turns, a vacuum sucks the liquid through the cake, drying it. The dried cake is either scrapes off by scroll discharge or dumped by a tilt pan.
Typical Applications:
- Phosphoric acid
- Alumina (hydrate)
Menardi offers all styles and sizes of pan filter cloths. These can be either heat or cold cut and are almost always woven polypropylene.
